Emmons Berman + Minkin (EBM) was founded as an “outside-the-box” concept to address a distinct need in Atlanta’s nonprofit community: providing skilled development directors on an interim basis.

All too often, a nonprofit organization loses its top development director in the middle of a large fundraising effort. This causes a critical gap in the organization while it searches for a replacement. Efforts to deal with this gap often include having the overextended CEO add on the development duties, or else letting development efforts float adrift for a few months until suitable replacement is hired.

Emmons Berman + Minkin has identified a number of experienced development directors who find the rhythms of project work better suited to this current stage in their lives: parents of young children, early retirees, those who prefer the ever changing challenges of project work.
