Candy Berman is President of Candy Berman & Associates, LLC, which specializes in creating strategically effective fundraising events for nonprofit agencies. Her clients have included The American Institute for Managing Diversity, Atlanta Commission on Women, Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, The Atlanta Women’s Foundation, Communities in Schools, The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Girls Inc., Leadership Atlanta, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence.
While working with nonprofit organizations, Berman witnessed the debilitating effect that losing development staff had on these organizations. This insight was the impetus behind EmmonsBerman + Minkin.
Berman’s volunteer service in the Atlanta community, together with her exposure to corporate culture through Leadership Atlanta (Class of 1992), have given her the experience and skills to guide her clients in their fundraising efforts. She has served as Program Chair of Leadership Atlanta, President of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, Campaign Chair of Women’s Division for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Foundations Chair of United Way and Vice-chair of Project Interchange.
A YWCA Woman of Achievement, Berman received the 1982 Abe Schwartz Young Leadership Award, and the 2003 Selig Distinguished Service Award.
